Hello everybody
I'm sorry for the long silence. And I apoligize to James for claiming
that it would take me 2-3 days to finish the website, then taking
almost two months, and to everyone who may have waited for continued
SICP sessions for that reason.
I wanted to think through all parts of the projects so that I would be
better prepared to handle it, and so that both hosts and potential
participants would know what they will be getting into. (Perhaps now
I've written too much.)
Then it has also taken me quite long to improve my server setup (at
some point I'll publish the Scheme programs that generate my
configuration).
You can now read the website, which is a wiki (feel free to edit it!), at:
http://bottoms.christianjaeger.ch/
If you're interested, please follow the instructions on the "Mailing
lists" page there.
I have to note that it's currently not sure that I can actually stay
here, it depends on whether I'm finding work here. I should know and
will tell you in a few weeks.
I'm suggesting the following course of action:
1. I suggest James (and/or/with Matthew?) resumes SICP sessions as
soon as possibe. SkillsMatter might be willing to host
them--coordinate with me as I'm already in contact with them.
2. I'm finding work, and will tell you when I'm ready. I'll then poll
for the best date for a first meeting to discuss the project
("decision" or planning meeting, not starting work on any phase yet),
and will find room.
3. Announcte the project in a couple places. Discuss over the mailing
list(s) until the first meeting.
What do you think?
Cheers
Christian.
